Area runners fared well at the Bear Paw Marathon held in Havre on Saturday, June 7. Peyton Summers finished first in the half marathon with a time of 1:13.26.3. Reilly Rees placed sixth with a time of 1:34.39.7. Sierra Summers earned top honors in the women’s marathon with a time of 3:18.24.7.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is developing a new Statewide Mule Deer Management Plan and recently held public workshops around the state to hear from the public. FWP still wants to hear from people who care about mule deer management but were unable to attend a workshop. Those folks can go to FWP’s website and leave a comment here. Johnslee Pierre of Lustre accounted for a remarkable three state championship performances at the Class C state track meet in Missoula during the weekend. The Lions finished with 38 points for fourth place in the boys’ standings. Manhattan Christian won the team title with 75 points. Pierre, a junior, finished first in the 300-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 39.55 seconds. He also
