Richard Fuhrman

Richard Fuhrman

Richard Kon Fuhrman, 80, of Glasgow died April 20, 2026, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital. He was born on May 22, 1945, in Glasgow to Helen Fuhrman, the oldest of seven children. He attended several different schools including Sunny Side country school, Nashua school and Glasgow school before moving in with his grandparents, Kon and Emma Fuhrman, in Larslan to finish out his high school years. He graduated from Opheim High School in 1963. He briefly attended Eastern Montana College (now Montana State University Billings) and Montana State University - Bozeman before returning home to farm and ranch. He married Diane Stannebein in 1965, and they welcomed a son, Konrich, in 1968. The couple later divorced. In 1974, he married Judy Braun. Together, they built a life and raised five children: Todd, Tana, Tadd, Tigh and Tami. He spent much of his life farming and ranching south of Richland and in the surrounding area before retiring and moving to Townsend in 2008. After seven years of living the retired life in what he considered a “warmer climate,” he and Judy returned to Glasgow in 2015 to be closer to family. He loved making a living farming and ranching. He truly loved his cows, his “babies” as he called them. He was a very proud grandpa and great-grandpa, and family meant everything to him. He grew up surrounded by a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins who remained important throughout his life. In a heartbreaking loss for the family, Richard’s son, Tadd Fuhrman of Missoula, died shortly after Richard. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Al Murch, Ed Rennick, Charlie Rennick, and Carl Rennick. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy; children: Konrich Fuhrman of Thompson Falls, Todd Fuhrman of Richland, Tana Fuhrman of Missoula, Tigh Fuhrman of Opheim and Tami Loftsgaard of Glasgow; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Lee Murch of Glasgow; and sister, Pam Bicker of Glasgow. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held May 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mint Bar in Opheim.
