A district court judge in Yellowstone County has temporarily blocked the state from enforcing three laws restricting abortions passed by the Legislature earlier this year, issuing a temporary restraining order in the highly politicized case. Judge Michael Moses’ ruling came just before 6 p.m. Thursday, giving a shortterm answer to a flurry of court filings from the state’s defense team

Janis Spottedbird, 41, of Brockton died Sept. 28, 2021, in Poplar. A wake will be held on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at Fort Kipp Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
