Jeffrey Low Dog Sr., Cinjá Ušíya, “Poor Calf,” 60, died Feb. 18, 2021, at Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings. He was born Jan. 20, 1961, in Wolf Point to Joseph Low Dog Sr. and Yvonne Shields. In his younger years, he went on the Mormon placement program in Longview, Wash. He received his GED at Kicking Horse Job Corps in Ronan. He worked at the Saddlery Shop in Wolf Point for many years. He loved making boots, wallets, belts and saddles. Along with working there, he also worked at the Cowboy Palace for Gene Martin. He helped brand cows and horses. There was a few times he was asked to help break horses too. He met Anita Iron Cloud around 1987 and, from this relationship, they had Alaric, Arienne and Jeffrey Low Dog Jr. He later met Rebecca “Becky” Archdale and they married in 2003. They spent many years happily married until her death in 2014. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved to visit and laugh. He loved playing card games, pool and jamming out on jukebox. He enjoyed doing outdoor things like hunting and fishing. He enjoyed going for evening cruises. He is survived by his three sons, Avery Boe, Alaric Low Dog and Jeffrey Low Dog Jr.; nine grandchildren; sisters, Patti Low Dog, Carol Low Dog, Jewel Low Dog and Kristen “Krissy” Low Dog; and brother, Joe “Beezer” Low Dog. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Low Dog and Tamera Low Dog; and children, Brandon Low Dog, Jeremy Low Dog and Arienne Low Dog. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the Oswego Presbyterian Cemetery. Francine Lynette Iceman, 49, of Poplar died Feb. 13, 2021. She was born in Poplar on Jan. 19, 1972, to Frances Nation and Leslie “Sandy” Grainger. She grew up and attended schools in Poplar and many other various places. Throughout her school years, she participated in cheerleading and volleyball. She decided not to finish school and got her GED. She worked many jobs as a teen and a young adult such as cleaning bars, A& S Industries and wildland firefighter, where she eventually found her calling was a CNA at the Poplar Community Hospital where she worked for over 20 years. She enjoyed staying home, being with her family and friends, cruising, fishing and being with her animals. She could always tell a good story and forever had people laughing. She is survived by sons, Francis “Chips” Grainger, Rodell Loegering and Riley Loegering; a grandson; mother, Frances Nation; siblings, Donald Iceman, Lloyd Iceman and Ramona Iceman; and spouse (of nearly of 20 years) Emery Lester. Francine was preceded in death by her sister, Robin Ann Iceman. A viewing will be held from 11 to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m. at the Poplar City Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, attendance is limited to 30 individuals. Masks are required.

Amber Mae Smith Arndt passed away February 13, 2021, at the age of 93 in Wolf Point. She was born on Wednesday, May 4, 1927, about four blocks away from where she passed away in Wolf Point. She married Hank Arndt Jr. in 1947 and, from this union, she had 4 boys. Hank preceded her in passing in February of 1999. She is survived by her sons, David, Howard, Mike and Carl; grandchildren, Deborah and Erin Arndt, Sally Sowder, Chris and Jessie Arndt, Michael, Kelly and Benjamin Arndt; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She lived with Hank in various places during Hank’s employment in the banking industry, including Wolf Point, Poplar, Scobey and Bigfork. After Hank retired, they lived in Billings and in Sun City, Ariz. Amber moved back to Wolf Point a few years ago and, in the recent past, was a resident of Faith Home in Wolf Point. She was a proud member of the Fort Peck Tribes. At her request, no services will be held. Lewis Milton Mitchell Siljenberg, 28, of Wolf Point died Feb. 3, 2021, in Billings. He was born to Lena and Kelly Siljenberg on Dec. 24, 1992. He grew up in Wolf Point, always surrounded by family. He attended school in Wolf Point. Later in life, he had moved to Kansas to be near family. While there, he was employed in construction. He thoroughly cherished the time he spent there with his mom and sister Dusti, and her family. He was the youngest of five and the only male. To some this might sound like a formidable start; for Lewis, it signified a responsibility to care and look out for his big sisters. He carried that way of thinking in all aspects of his life. He was always quick to offer a helping hand or a funny insight to cheer up someone’s day. He was a humble young man. He was very kindhearted and had a quiet, gentle spirit about him. He is survived by his father, Kelly Siljenberg; sisters, Dayle Garfield, Violet Siljenberg and Dusti Rose Siljenberg; and grandparents, Larry and Beulah Siljenberg. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kelli Jo Siljenberg. His funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 15, at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Dorreen Jo Brown, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at the Poplar Community Hospital. She was born on April 18, 1963, in Poplar to Thomas Brown Sr. and Alva Bighorn. She graduated from Brockton High School in May 1981. She played basketball and was MVP for the Lady Brockton Warriors her sophomore year. She married Richard “Harvey” Campbell Sr. in 1982. They settled in Wolf Point and, to this union, Heather, Richard Jr. and Felisha were born. They later divorced. She married Charles Black Dog in 1996. They had three daughters, Marlana, Marcella and Martina. They lived in Fort Kipp and she would often travel with Charlie and the Black Dog Band and sometimes play tambourine. After their divorce, Dorreen had a longtime companion, Garrison Canuto. They had a blended family and lived in Williston, N.D., for several years and then finally, Sidney. She enjoyed traveling to New Mexico with Garrison to his family home. They went to the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota every year; this last year being especially memorable because she went on a zipline for the first time. She was the only girl of four siblings, her brothers, Thomas, Wesley and Troy. Growing up, she often stayed with her grandparents, Alpheus and Josephine Bighorn. Throughout her life, she held odd jobs — she worked as a firefighter for the Fort Peck Tribes and at fast food restaurants in Williston, but her main job was being a stay-at-home mother. She liked to camp out at the local pow-wows and enjoyed going to bingo and playing machines with her mother. Holidays were her favorite time because of the large Bighorn family gatherings. She liked to cook and she made the best apple crisp. She enjoyed listening to music and if she liked a song, she would play it on endless repeat. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Heather Renee. She is survived by her mother, Alva Bighorn of Brockton; children; son ,Richard Campbell Jr. of Billings; daughters Felisha Crowe of Helena, Marlana, Marcella and Martina Black Dog, both of Poplar; 19 grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Brown, Wesley Brown and Troy Brown, all of Brocktona; and sister, Crystal Brown of Wolf Point. Her funeral was held Friday, Feb. 12, at the Red Eagle Church in Fort Kipp. Interment followed at Fort Kipp Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.

John Ray Sorensen was born on May 25, 1952, to Mary and Peter Sorensen of Scobey Montana, the last of four boys. The man with nine lives died Feb. 8, 2021. He filled his 68 years with love, laughter, farming and a whole lot of teasing. He met Paulette Bantz while cruising the streets of Plentywood and they married six months later in 1973. Their love and devotion to each other was unparalleled. They welcomed a son, Travis, and later a daughter, Allison. He spent most of his life in Scobey and only moved to Plentywood in 2017 when he was lured to spend more time with his grandchildren. He was happiest on a tractor going in circles, but always had time to visit, play a game of cards, tell a story or fling some teasing at whoever came in his path. He faced many medical challenges throughout his life, but handled them with spunk and shear determination. It was often joked that he was like the Energizer Bunny as he “just kept going.” He was preceded in death by son, Travis. He is survived by his wife, Paulette; daughter, Allison Reed of Plentywood; two grandchildren; and brothers, Henry of Scobey, Roy of Wisconsin and Joseph of Wolf Point. A memorial service was held Friday, Feb. 12, at Scobey Lutheran Church.

Dennis Greg Chandler, 71, of Plentywood died at Sheridan Memorial Hospital Feb. 9, 2021. He was born June 3, 1949, in Plentywood, the fourth child of Charles Fay and Violet (Cybulski) Chandler. He attended all his school years in Plentywood with the exception of his freshman year when he spent a year at the Assumption Abbey in Richardton, N.D. After graduating high school in 1967, he spent one year studying at Gonzaga University before transferring to the University of Montana where he graduated in 1971 with a degree in accounting. He began his accounting career in Glasgow and was a longtime partner at the CHMS accounting firm. Throughout his career, he built strong relationships with his clients that developed into lifelong friendships. In 2000, he retired from the firm and went on to work in the financial department at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital. Dennis and Cleo eventually retired and moved back to Plentywood. On Nov. 27, 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Cleo Peterson. They established a home in Glasgow and raised five children — Kimberli, Brian, Tami, Hennie and Rhonda. His greatest joy in life was his 13 grandchildren. He was happiest when he was surrounded by all of his children and grandchildren. He loved when everyone was home so he could cook for them. His grandchildren spent many hours playing in the three-story fort Grandpa Dennis built for them in the backyard. He had a gift for helping people. He never thought twice about offering his advice or lending a helping hand. Helping friends and family remodel was one of his favorite pastimes. He spent many hours on the golf course and passed down the love of golf to many of his children and grandchildren. He valued his Catholic faith. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He had a love for the Lord that he openly shared with his family. He wanted to make sure that Jesus was a priority in his family’s lives. He is survived by his wife, Cleo; children, Kim Shipp, Brian Chandler, Tami Wiens, Rhonda Voss and Hennie Vallie; 13 grandchildren; and siblings, Fay Chandler, Ned Chandler, Mark Chandler and MaryAnne Chandler. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Chandler. Mass of Christian Burial was conducted Saturday, Feb. 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Patrick Zabrocki officiating. Interment was at Plentywood Cemetery.

Sarah Lu “Sissy” Three Stars, 54, of Poplar died Feb. 8, 2021, at Poplar Hospital. She was born May 21, 1966, to Hazel (Lester) and Harry Three Stars and was the baby of the family. She attended Poplar Schools and graduated in 1985. She enjoyed playing basketball and other activities. She met Orlando Moses Young Sr. and, from this union, they had two sons, Orlando Jr. and Mycel Young. After Orlando Sr.’s death, she met Trevor Vondall and, from this union, they had a daughter Ashley Vondall. She later met J.D. Bergie Sr.. They married, but later divorced and remained friends. She worked for A& S Industries from 1989 to 1993 when they were in the process of closing their doors. She spent her time raising her children and enjoying life to the fullest. She started work for the Fort Peck Tribes in 2006 in the minerals department where she worked until 2018 when she quit to take care of her three grandchildren. She was a kind hearted, giving woman. Whenever she’d pass by the body shop across from Tande’s, she’d stop and give whoever was standing there food and what change she had. She was quiet, but when she got angry, she could raise the roof off a house. She loved to be with her family and friends, always laughing and smiling. She is survived by her son, Mycel Young; daughter, Ashley Vondall; three grandchildren; sisters, Kathy and Mary Lu Azure; and brothers, Roy Azure and Harry Three Stars Jr. She was also preceded in death by son, Orlando Jr. A wake will be held Thursday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Poplar Cultural center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Poplar City Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point was entrusted with the arrangements.
