Gary Farnsworth, 74, of Williston, N.D., formerly of Fort Peck, died July 12, 2021, in Minot, N.D. He was born William Weeks on Jan. 20, 1947, in Poplar to Lillian DeLong Weeks and William Weeks Jr. He was adopted by Vernon Farnsworth and Helen Kissell Farnsworth. They raised him in Fort Peck. He was proud of being from Fort Peck and carried this pride with him through life. Vernon and Helen raised him to be an enthusiastic outdoorsman and the untamed area of Valley County contributed to his lifelong love of hunting, fishing and camping. He attended both Nashua and Glasgow High School, graduating from Glasgow High School in 1965 where he had excelled as an multisport letterman in football, basketball and track, which earned him a football scholarship to Eastern Montana College in Billings. In Billings, he met Mary Paulbeck whom he married in 1967. They had two children, Kari Farnsworth of Williston, N.D., and Kris Farnsworth Phoenix, Ariz. He joined the United States Marine Corps, then the United States Air Force, serving 20 years and retiring in January, 1987. His 20 years included serving overseas for five years and he was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. He married Susan Cobb Farnsworth in 1978. He helped raise Susan’s daughter, Stacy Emery of Anderson, Ind. Gary and Susan had one child, Richard Farnsworth of Billings. He was a dedicated adult volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Masons and Shriners. He served in many roles and assisted many young men achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, including his sons. He believed in the program and continued to assist after his children were grown. He is survived by his four children, 10 grandchildren and eight siblings. Services are pending under the direction of Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home in Sidney.

Ronald Lee Wallis, 67, of Sidney died Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at his home in Culbertson. He was born Feb. 25, 1954, to Robert and Cecilia Wallis in Culbertson. He grew up in Froid with his five brothers and his baby sister, Lucille “Lulu.” During his school years, he played baseball, basketball and football with football being his favorite. He graduated in 1973 from Froid High School and immediately joined the Army. He was a medic in Germany and continued a career with the military until he was honorably discharged in 1993. He married Nancy Ann Nacey on May 12, 1979. There was a bet at the Mint Bar in Froid as to how long the marriage would last, because they were such opposites. They proved everyone wrong with 33 years of happiness together and three daughters. They did everything together and were truly best friends until her death in 2012. He had a special bond with each of his seven grandchildren. Swimming, fishing, playing cards, cruising to the oldies music and supporting all of their sporting events, were some of the many things he enjoyed doing with them. He had a special pen pal relationship with his granddaughter Mya. He has a passion for coaching basketball and football. His love for coaching showed when he coached all three of his daughters and grandsons. He had a special place in his heart for the Brockton Warriors. He coached football and basketball for Brockton. He cherished all the years of coaching the Warriors and kept in contact with all of his players by going to graduations and through texts and Facebook. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; and brother, Raybern. He is survived by his daughters, Jean Rathbun, LeeAnn Stangeland and Rhonda Sorensen; seven grandchildren; brothers, Richard “Dick,” Robert “Bob,” Cecil, Jim and Jerry; and sister, Lucille “Lulu.” Funeral services were held Saturday, July 10, at the Froid Community Center in Froid with Pastor Jay Cummins officiating. Interment with military honors was at the Hillside Cemetery in Culbertson.

Max Hagadone, 52, died on June 16, 2021, in San Diego, Calif. Max was born on Dec. 24, 1968, to Cliff and Nora (La-Verdure) Hagadone he grew up in Wolf Point and graduated in 1987. Always the ham, Max was well known for his teasing and you could always tell because there was a twitch on the side of his jaw while he was trying to keep a straight face. His only sister was his favorite victim. He truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and working out at the gym. Max loved his dogs and always had one around when he was growing up. Many weekends growing up were spent at Fort Peck Lake fishing and camping. In school, he participated in football, track and boxing as well as band and choir. In 1986, while still in high school, he joined the Army National Guard. In 1987, he joined the US Navy. Max made a career out of the Navy, retiring in 2010 after having served many overseas missions and earning numerous medals. He worked in communications. He loved to travel the world and would always bring home special gifts for his sister. Max was always there whenever his sister needed him, looking out for her. While stationed in Germany, Max met and married LeAnn Gullroy. To this union, two children, Jordan Hagadone and Colton Hagadone, were born. He was especially close with his son, Colton, who looked just like him and has the same personality and ability to tease. Max and Colton spent a lot of time fishing and doing father/son things like going to baseball games and playing video games and just hanging out. He is survived by the mother of his children, Leann; two children, Jordan and Colton, both of San Diego; his sister, Noreen (Hagadone) Hohman of Wolf Point; his aunt, Gertrude Witschen of Hamilton, Mont.; nieces, Amanda (Zack), Jennifer and Gabreal (Ethan) Hansen of Wolf Point; nephews, Darryl (Kaurie) Hansen, Benjamin Brooks (Caren) and Daniel Hohman Jr. (Angela); special cousins, Bob and Beth Hagadone, Susan Twitchell and Geoff Hagadone; the entire Hagadone and LaVerdure families; numerous cousins and extended family; special friends, Jim Summers, Bryce Redgrave, Tammy Archdale and Linda Martinez. If we left anyone out, we truly apologize. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Nora Hagadone; grandparents, Mary and Dugald Hagadone, Lawrence and Eliza Edwards and Horace LaVerdure; his brother-in-law, Daniel Hohman Sr.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Max left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a one of a kind. He loved to come home and catch up on the news with his family and friends. “You were my first friend and my best friend.
