Gloria Steppler Paladichuk of Beaverton, Ore., formerly of Sidney, died Saturday, April 1, 2023, at St Vincent Medical Center in Beaverton. She was born Oct. 14, 1943, to Dave and Frances Steppler. She was one of seven siblings and is now reunited with sisters Clara, Joanne, Kathleen and brother Jimmy. She was raised on the farm in the Elmdale community, and her education began in Timmons, a one-room school. She graduated Sidney High School early and attended business school in Denver, Colo. She married Jim Paladichuk on July 7, 1962. They raised two children in Sidney: daughter Deedra and son Brian. She purchased a movie camera to record many family events and loved spending summers at their cabin at Fort Peck, affectionately called “Little Sidney.” Her favorite activities at the cabin were waterskiing and visiting around the campfire with friends and family. She and Jim always shared the love of music and dancing. State Farm Insurance Agency was the start of her career. Once her long-time bosses retired, she decided it was time for a career change and ran for Richland County Treasurer. She was elected and served from 1981-1988. In 1989, she decided to run for Richland County Commissioner and was elected as the first woman county commissioner of Richland County and served from 1989-1994. She and Jim moved to Helena

Linda Lou Dschaak, 76, of Culbertson died April 3, 2023, at Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson. She was born Aug. 18, 1946, to Jake and Doris Lorenz in Glasgow. She became a wife and a mother at the young age of 20 when she married Hank Judd. The couple had two sons: Jeffrey Marcus and Donald Allen. Nothing brought her more joy than her two rowdy and turbulent boys. She soon decided to spread her wings back home to Montana where she met and married Kenny Olsen in 1980. They welcomed Jennifer into the world a tad early in January 1982. She took pride in many things. One thing you could always expect was for her to show up to any function and win best dressed. She never left home unless her face was on, nails were painted, and her outfit and hair were on point. Another great pride in her life was being called Grandma or Nana. Joan Elaine Peters, 59, of Wolf Point, Mont., was surrounded by her family as she passed away on April 5, 2023, following complications from a heart attack. Many would describe Joan as a sassy redhead with a quick wit, infectious laugh, and great sense of humor. She was strong-willed and stubborn. Joan enjoyed going on walks and to the river with her dogs, traveling to see her daughters, gambling in Las Vegas, golfing, going to Stampede, visiting with those who did business at Squires Insurance and attending any event with a parade. She was very proud of her Wolf Point community and enjoyed serving for the Faith Home Foundation since 2016 and being involved in multiple ways at the Immaculate Conception Church. Frank Alexander Kelsey, 96, died Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Eastern Montana Veterans Home in Glendive. He was born June 8, 1926, in Poplar to Albert Eugene “A.E.” and Cecilia (Young) Kelsey. He spent his boyhood days in Poplar where he was the sixth of seven children. After graduating high school, he helped his father run one of his businesses in the area, before eventually joining the army. He was enlisted from 1947 to 1948 where he served as a typist and a military police officer. On his return home, he joined his father and brother with their business, Kelsey Transfer. After time, he and his brother Warren eventually took over the family business and renamed it Kelsey Ready Mix. He was a jack of all trades. As well as running his concrete business, he also cut fence posts, was a heavy equipment operator and was custodian for Poplar Schools from 1984 until he was forced into retirement at age 80. Mavis Sharin Loegering, 76, of Poplar died March 9, 2023, at Northeast Montana Health Services in Poplar. She was born in Wolf Point on March 31, 1946, to Gordon and Margery (Hancock) Rodewald, the youngest of five children (Betty, Gordon Jr., Rhoda and Margery). She was raised and attended school through her junior year at Brockton, later obtaining her GED. She married Del Loegering on June 22, 1963, in Poplar. They remained together until his death in April 1996. Two children were born from this union, Dawn and Dewey. In her lifetime she worked numerous jobs, such as babysitting took in ironing, Gambles store, Northeast Montana Health Services in many capacities, Independence Bank, Murphy Oil Corporation, Tande’s Grocery and Buckhorn Café. But, her greatest and most fulfilling job was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved without limits, whether it be human or animal. Anyone who knew her

Dale Ernest George, 66, died Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in Minot, N.D. He was born on May 20, 1956, in Powell, Wyo., to William Dean George and Joan Carol (Shelby) George. He spent his childhood in Basin, Wyo., and most of his school years in Glendive, where he graduated in 1974. After graduation, he worked many oilfield jobs until 1984 when he moved to Thermopolis, Wyo., and started work for Fred Hanson at Fred Hanson Construction and Canyon Concrete which started his passion for the concrete business. He later realized his love for flying planes and firefighting which took him all over the country. He made many longtime friends wherever he went with his jokes and straight-forward honest approach

Mary Francise Brock, 30, of Wolf Point died March 14, 2023. She was born in Wolf Point on Jan 5, 1993, to James Kermit Brock Sr. and Lavonne Bernice Brock and, even though it didn’t seem like it and she never acted like it, she was the youngest out of her brothers and sisters. She always tried to take care of and help out anyway she could. She loved and enjoyed many things throughout her life, like being with her family fishing and camping, jamming to rock music, working and playing games online with her best friend Kyleigh and special friend Chris Evans, whom she grew very close to and started a relationship with. She was the manager of Family Dollar here in Wolf Point for the past few years until her health declined. But, while working there, she became close friends with Jim and Bob and always said that Jim was the best boss she had ever worked for.
