The Fort Peck Tribes Elderly Program will distribute turkeys to tribal elders (60 years or older) on Friday, Nov. 20. The program will conduct this event at each town’s tribal elderly site via drive through. The main goal is to keep the elders safe, so please stay in your vehicle and wear a mask. The Wolf Point Schools Johnson O’Malley and Indian Education Committee held a special meeting Nov. 6. Remote access was made possible by via Zoom. Chair Michael Turcotte, vice chair Rain Escarcega-Turcotte and secretary Natasha Kemp were in attendance, as were Fort Peck Tribal Court judges Imogene Lilley and Stacie FourStar. The Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board suspended chairman Floyd Azure Nov. 5. Azure was escorted from council chambers by tribal police. He will face a removal hearing Dec. 3.
