Roosevelt County’s employees will receive a one-time stipend from federal CARES funds after a decision by Roosevelt County commissioners on Tuesday, March 2. Commissioners unanimously approved giving each full-time employee a $1,000 stipend and halftime employees a $500 stipend. Commissioners noted that individuals have dealt with added expenses such as day care during the COVID pandemic.

The Wolf Point School District is in the process of filling one of its school board positions. During February’s board meeting, the board accepted the resignation of District 4 trustee Janice Wemmer- Kegley. An appointment to replace Wemmer- Kegley is required to take place prior to April 8. Sixty-eight airports across Montana will share $20,034,965 in grant funding to keep up with costs and continue projects amid the COVID-19 crisis. U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., announced that he had secured the funding as part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act that was signed into law in late December of last year. Jon Tester, D-Mont., increased his aggressive push last week to restore Amtrak service to Montana’s Hi-Line communities by introducing legislation to reinstate furloughed Amtrak employees and return complete long-distance service to routes like the Empire Builder. “Montana is a huge state. The National Weather Service Glasgow Reported Feb. 28 that the period from December 2020 through February 2021 has brought the least amount of snow for a Meteorological Winter in the Glasgow area with only 1.5 inches. Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte signed House Bill 102 into law Thursday, Feb. 18. The governor says the new law protects Montanans’ Second Amendment rights and promotes public safety. “Every law-abiding Montanan should be able to defend themselves and their loved ones. That’s why today, I’m signing H.B. 102 into law,” Gianforte said. The new law allows law-abiding Montana gun owners to
