The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 61 cases from Jan. 2-7. Jan. 2 Deputies received a complaint from a Wolf Point woman regarding a protection order violation. She said she was being harassed on social media. The deputies took the complaint. Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police after receiving information of a suicide threat at the river. Law enforcement didn’t locate

Cerra Anne Pipe has made not guilty pleas to charges in U.S. District Court. The charges include possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and distribution of fentanyl. According to charging documents, Pipe knowingly and unlawfully possessed with the intent to distribute fentanyl in Wolf Point from approximately January 2020 to approximately January 2023. Roosevelt County and County Attorney Janet Christoffersen are disagreeing in court about the enforceability of a resolution and other issues. Resolution 2024-2, which was approved on July 25, 2023, set the county attorney’s salary at $119,215.60 and deputy county attorney’s salary at 85 percent of the county attorney’s pay. According to the Valley County Sheriff’s Office, four people have been arrested over an incident that took place in Roosevelt and Valley counties Saturday evening and Sunday morning, Jan. 6-7. Jesse Hank Baker, age 23, was charged with speeding, reckless driving, fleeing from or eluding peace officer, criminal endangerment and theft. Clayton Montclair, 25, was charged with theft and fleeing
