Leaders of nonprofit organization and throughout community should take note of an upcoming workshop in Wolf Point. The Montana Nonprofit Association is conducting the community leader and nonprofit workshop on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Great Northern Development Center. There is no cost to attend the workshop. Northeast Montana Health Services is sponsoring the lunch.

Wolf Point Mayor Chris Dschaak and Roosevelt County Commissioners discussed a “typo” in the proposed agreement regarding the justice of the peace office. The agreement reads, “The city shall compensate the county for those services performed by paying the county $17,047.59 per year and $1,420.63 per month.” Dschaak noted, and the commissioners agreed, that the agreement should read

The Roosevelt County Commissioners finalized and approved their budget during their weekly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3. The budget increased by 2.4 percent compared to last year. The increase is determined based on a percentage of the rate of inflation during the three previous years. Tax valuation for Roosevelt County is $31,998,000, which is just a slight increase during the last 10 years.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 91 calls from Sept. 2-8. The calls included the following: Sept. 2 Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle crash on a gravel road south of Culbertson. Deputies assisted the Montana Highway Patrol and the Culbertson Fire Department. There were no injuries. Deputies received a report of a disturbance regarding an adult male in Brockton.
