Lions Play Tough Against North Country

The Lustre Lions took North Country to five sets before falling short in a road conference volleyball match on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

After the Lions earned the first set victory, North Country bounced back with wins of 25-21 and 2511 in the next two sets.

Lustre went ahead 20-19 in the fourth set on a tip by Samantha Neufeld. A block by Aleah Fast was good for a 22-21 advantage and a kill by Neufeld put the Lions in the lead at 2422.

The Mavericks tallied the next points, but Lustre won the last point for a 2523 victory.

In the fifth set, the serving of Sidney Klatt helped the Lions gain a 6-4 advantage.

With the score deadlocked at 7-7, North Country struck for the next four points and held on for the 15-10 victory.

The Lions will host Scobey on Saturday, Oct. 24, to end the regular season.

The district tournament is Oct. 29-30 in Scobey.
