Baldry Hired As Scobey’s Activities Director

The Scobey School District has a new activities director.

During last week’s school board meeting, trustees approved Drew Baldry to serve in that position. Prior to the hiring, superintendent Greg Hardy was filling in by covering the duties.

“I enjoy sports and being around it. It’s a way to help the community and be at the games,” Baldry said.

Baldry, who is a loan officer at Daniels-Sheridan Federal Credit Union in Scobey, says that with technology and emails, a lot of the position’s duties can now be perform remotely.

“I’m here to support them and help them out,” Baldry said. “I want to work to keep Scobey what it is.”

During his high school days, Baldry played football and basketball for the Scobey Spartans. He was part of the Class C state championship basketball team in 2011.

He also played baseball at the American Legion level for the Wolf Point Yellowjackets.

Baldry moved back to Scobey about five years ago. This past summer, Baldry coached Scobey’s Babe Ruth baseball team to a 17-3 record.

One of his personal goals is to increase participation for baseball in Scobey and bring back an American Legion baseball team to the community.
