Spartans Place Second At Meet
The Scobey Spartans earned second place in both team standings during the Wolf Point Invitational cross country meet held on Friday, Aug. 28.
In the girls’ division, the Spartans had 33 points compared to first-place Culbertson-Bainville’s 32 points.
Three girls finished in the top 10 to lead the Spartans. Hailey Johnson ran the course in 25:57.1 for eighth place, Esmeralda Sones had a time of 26:21.9 for ninth place and Hazel Sones finished in 26:38.7 for 10th place.
Also placing for Scobey’s girls were Merlina Kramer with a time of 29:10.7 for 22nd place, Evee Berryhill at 29:34.4 for 23rd place, Shelby Cole at 30:17.4 in 28th place and Ashtynn Fladager at 31:14.8 for 31st place.
Scobey’s boys placed second with 50 points while Wolf Point won top honors with 26 points. Scobey’s freshman Apollo Kramer finished in fourth place with a time of 19:23.9. Carter Lekvold also made the top 10 with a time of 20:22.8 for 10th place.
Other placings for Scobey’s boys were Health Cahill in 24th at 22:46.2, Jack Williams in 26th at 23:17.4, Thor Lund in 27th at 24:06.6, Easton Fladager in 35th at 24:49.3, Bryce Handran in 36th at 24:49.7 and Lukas Lekvold in 51st at 30:53.6.
Brockton
Braelynn Demarrias placed in sixth place to lead the Brockton Warriors at the Wolf Point Invitational. The junior’s time was 25:31.3.
Leading Brockton’s boys was Tefton Bear with a time of 20:52.4 for 15th place.
Preston Beston finished 22nd at 22:37.5. Daniel Segubiense was 25th at 23:11.2.
Frazer Frazer’s sophomore Elli Mail finished in 29th place with a time of 30:51.7 to lead the Bearcubs.
Also placing for Frazer’s girls were Anevay Daniels in 36th at 32:20.8, Landyn Rattling Thunder in 38th at 33:06.3 and Bethany Hotomanie in 42nd at 37:44.3.
In the boys’ division, Ronald Round Face finished in 50th place with a time of 29:10.0.
