Fish, Wildlife Commission Meets Aug. 19

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking public comment on a variety of items that will go before the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission during its next meeting, Aug. 19.

The topics open for public comment are:

• The selection of organizations to receive a license to auction

• Proposed Future Fisheries Improvement Program project for the summer funding cycle

• Appointment of member to the Upper Missouri River Citizen Advisory Committee

• Extension of an agriculture lease on the Northshore Wildlife Management Area

• Approval of the 2026 nongame wildlife work plan

• Temporary closure of Kohrs Bend Fishing Access Site

• Stimson timberland legacy conservation easement

• Roosters for Recruitment pheasant release program More information about these agenda items is available on the commission meeting webpage. Commissioners can submit amendments to any of FWP’s proposals.

How to weigh in:

Your voice matters in this process. The commission is accepting public comment on meeting agenda items through July 23. There are two ways to comment before the meeting — and these are theonlyoptions for submitting comments or documents prior to Aug. 19: Online portal (Survey-Monkey): Each agenda item includes a survey for submitting public comment. Letters and supporting documents may be attached to the survey.

Anyone can comment in person on Aug. 19 at the Montana Heritage Center in Helena or at their nearest FWP regional office.
