Highway Patrol Releases Fatality Report
The Montana Highway Patrol has released a report regarding a fatality that occurred in Roosevelt County on Sunday April 26.
Sean Forrest, an 18-year-old male from Poplar, was the fatality victim.
According to the report, the crash happened at 12:33 a.m. at mile marker 604 on U.S. Highway 2. The victim’s vehicle was a Ram 1500.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that a Fort Peck Tribal officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a red Dodge truck for failure to maintain lane. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated traveling west on U.S. Highway 2 at a high rate of speed.
During the pursuit, the vehicle went off the roadside, rolling multiple times and coming to rest in the ditch. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.
The highway patrol lists alcohol as a suspected cause of the crash.
