Wolf Point Tennis Team Begins Season With Wins

The Wolf Point Wolves enjoyed a strong start to their tennis season during matches on Thursday, April 9, and Friday, April 10.

“I’m super proud of how the girls started the season,” Coach Dan Horsmon said. “I’m looking forward to a great year.”

Wolf Point won eight singles matches and five doubles matches during home action against Poplar on Thursday.

Scoring victories in singles were Tanna Guldborg, Hailey GrayHawk, Jeina Reum, McKenzie Rodenberg, Kai Villaluz, Afton Hanks, Lauren Rodenberg and Riley Schwarzrock.

Earning victories in doubles were L. Rodenberg/ Schwarzrock, Guldborg/ GrayHawk, M. Rodenberg/ Hanks and Villaluz/ Reum.

The Wolves won four of eight singles matches against Baker and Forsyth in Baker on Friday.

Horsmon said, “It was a long, hard and windy day. All the girls showed great improvement.”

M. Rodenberg won two singles matches. Also with victories were Reum and Hanks.

Guldborg and Gray Hawk won a match in doubles.

The Wolves are scheduled to host Poplar on Friday, April 17, and travel to Havre on Saturday, April 18.
