The Culbertson Cowboys and Bainville’s girls each placed fourth in the team standings during the Richey/ Lambert Invitational held on Friday, April 10.

The Cowboys finished with 44 points at the large track meet. The top three teams were Glasgow with 107, Lustre Christian with 83.5 points and Plentywood with 75. Bainville was 11th with 15 and Froid/ Lake took 16th with six points.

Bainville’s girls placed fourth with 38 points behind Richey/Lambert with 74, Glasgow with 55 and Turner with 54 points. Culbertson took 12th with 16 points while Froid/Lake was 19th with two points.

Brooks Solem led the Cowboys by earning first in the javelin at 156-5 and clearing 5-10 in the high jump.

The junior also placed fourth in the shot put at 40-6 and fourth in the discus at 129-5.

Trust Magwaba finished fourth in the 100 at 12.15 seconds and sixth in the 200 with a time of 24.47 seconds.

Harrison Green took sixth in the 400 with a time of 54.45 seconds.

Both of the Cowboys’ relay teams placed at the meet. The 400-meter relay team featuring Green, Magwaba, Mauricio Mena and Bennie Sullivan finished third at 47.08 seconds. The 1600-meter relay team of Magwaba, Cal Steppler, Mena and Green took fourth at 4:00.66.

Anna Steppler led the Cowgirls by finishing second in the 1600 at 6:02.15 and third in the 3200 at 13:09.09.

Emma Berwick earned fifth in the shot put with a mark of 30-9.

Bainville

Kaiden Holmes ran to firstplace honors in the 800 to highlight Bainville’s efforts at the meet. The senior finished with a time of 2:09.32.

Holmes finished fifth in the 400 at 54.21 seconds. Rowan Wilson took fifth in the 800 at 2:16.77.

Bainville’s 400-meter relay team consisting of Keagan Vaira, Holmes, Parker Berwick and Wilson finished sixth with a time of 48.13 seconds.

through with a solid meet for Bainville’s girls. The senior earned second in the javelin at 110-8, second in the 200 at 27.87, third in the 400 at 1:02.87 and fourth in the 100 at 13.64 seconds.

Addison Hansen earned second place in the shot put with a mark of 33-1.

Lila Butikofer placed fourth in the discus at 91-7.

Froid/Lake

Aaron Orozco led the Red Hawks by placing third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.05 seconds.

Atley Jensen ran the 1600 in 6:12.67 for fifth place.

Teams will compete at the Fairview Invitational on Monday, April 20..
