Wolf Point, Lustre Christian and Poplar opened their track seasons on a high note with strong showings in Glasgow on Saturday, March 28.

The top three teams in the boys’ division were Glasgow with 123 points, Lustre Christian with 78 points and Wolf Point with 69 points. Poplar took fifth with 41 points.

In the girls’ standings, Glasgow earned first with 105 points followed by Richey/ Lambert with 99 and Malta with 55 points. Lustre placed fifth with 43 points, Wolf Point was seventh with 40 and Poplar took eighth with 34 points.

Wolf Point

Sean Hamilton was a triple winner for the Wolves. The senior earned first in the shot put at 42-2, first in the discus at 131-9 and first in the javelin at 142-4.

Damari Martinez cleared 5-7 for first place in the high jump. Kayden Charette cleared 5-2 for third place in the event.

Tavian Bell earned second place in the pole vault by clearing 8-0.

Charette took fourth in the triple jump at 36-7 and sixth in the long jump at 17-2.

Reilly Rees finished fourth in the 3200 with a time of 11:37.85.

Wolf Point’s boys’ 400-meter relay team featuring Bell, Hamilton, Martinez and Charette finished third with a time of 51.47 seconds.

In the girls’ division, Addy Smith led the Wolves by finishing first in the 400 at 1:02.86 and second in the 100 at 13.83 seconds. She was fifth in the long jump with a mark of 13-6.

Layla Headdress earned first in the 3200 at 13:48.12 and fourth in the 1600 at 6:33.88.

Anna Matejovsky placed third in the pole vault by clearing 9-6.

Lustre

Jaycee Hilkemann led Lustre’s boys by taking first in the 1600 at 5:04.71 and first in the 3200 at 10:46.99.

Prestyn Klatt finished first in the 800 at 2:09.24 and second in the 1600 at 5:05.21.

Diek Olfert earned second in the 400 at 56.7 seconds and third in the long jump at 18-2.

Chris Traeholt took fourth in the 800 at 2:17.34.

KJ Brown took sixth in the 100 at 12.52 and sixth in the 200 at 25.78.

Both of Lustre’s boys’ relay teams earned first place. The 400-meter relay team featuring Olfert, Wheeler Damboise, Jacob Rigby and Brown had a time of 48.88. The 1600-meter relay team of Brown, Olfert, Hilkemann and Klatt finished with a time of 3:59.69.

In the girls’ division, the Lions earned first in the 1600-meter relay. Lauryn Holzrichter, Sidney Klatt, Justice Byers and Samantha Neufeld finished with a time of 4:42.75.

The 400-meter relay team of J. Byers, Grace Byers, Neufeld and Kencia Brown took third at 58.95.

Taking third were J. Byers with a time of 1:08.83 in the 400 and Klatt with a time of 6:08.77 in the 1600.

In the 800, Neufeld placed fourth at 2:46.94 and Klatt was fifth at 2:48.80.

Holzrichter was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles at 54.67 and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles at 19.19 seconds.

Placing sixth were Hilkemann in the 1600 at 8:09.88, Ashtyn Traeholt at 82-7 in the discus and Brown in the 100 at 14.27 seconds.

Poplar

Earning first place for Poplar’s boys were Ryder Olson with a mark of 37-8 in the triple jump and Wilder Bearcub with a time of 45.55 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles.

Raylando Red Eagle finished third in the 1600 at 5:18.32, fourth in the 300-meter hurdles at 53.28 and sixth in the 800 at 2:26.45.

Issac Irizarry finished second in the 3200 with a time of 11:19.14.

Bearcub took fifth in the triple jump at 35-7.

In the girls’ division, Mila Grambling finished first at 6:08.18 and Kellyn Azure took second at 6:08.36 in the 1600.

Azure earned third place in the 800 at 2:46.67.

Lilliana O’Neal placed fourth in the discus at 91-4 and fifth in the shot put at 29-7.

Poplar’s girls’ 400-meter relay team featuring Madison Knowlton, Kelbee Redstone, Alara Cooper and Azure finished fourth at 1:02.50.
