Froid/Lake Girls Lose To Fusion
Froid/Lake’s girls’ basketball squad dropped a 60-34 decision against top-seeded Richey/Lambert at the District 2C tournament on Thursday, Feb. 19.
The Red Hawks trailed by only a 9-7 margin at the end of the first quarter after baskets by Isabelle Nordwick and Atley Jensen ended the period.
Three-pointers by Leah Murray were a highlight for the Red Hawks in the second period, but the Fusion held a 25-17 half-time lead.
Three-pointers by Jolee Klempell and Brylie Huft helped Richey/Lambert increase the margin to 44-26 late in the third quarter. Free throws by Nordwick and Murray cut the margin to 4429 at the end of the period.
The Fusion then outscored Froid/Lake by a 16-5 margin in the fourth period.
Nordwick led the Red Hawks with 11 points. Also scoring were Murray with seven, Jensen with five, Jordyn Breuer with five, Avery Johnson with two, Joelle Davidson with two and Mira Bakken with two.
J. Davidson and Nordwick accounted for three steals each.
