Police Chief Anthony Cambridge and his family have now made Wolf Point their home. He started fulltime at the police office in mid-January.

“I moved the family and we’re here,” Cambridge said last week.

They are enjoying life in their new community. “Everybody has been very nice. We’re meeting new people and getting settled in,” Cambridge said. Besides the chief, the Wolf Point Police Department currently features four officers plus an animal control officer. Two more officers are needed to be considered fully staffed.

“In today’s environment, it’s not unusual to have openings, unfortunately,” Cambridge said.

At the moment, Cambridge doesn’t have any particular changes in mind to handle the crime in Wolf Point.

“I’m just trying to settle in and learn the city and the people,” he said.

Cambridge’s experience includes serving as a police chief for about six years. He is married and the father of four children.

In a previous article, Wolf Point Mayor Chris Dschaak said that he felt Cambridge’s experience will be a benefit to the community’s young police force. “I feel his addition with his experience will work really well for them,” Dschaak said.
