Chennaniah Smith
Chennaniah Titus “C.T.” Smith, “Kiya Beanz,” died Jan. 23, 2026, in Billings.
He was born April 12, 1992, in Poplar to Vermae Smith and Joseph “Joe” Boyd.
He received his elementary education in Poplar and Culbertson. He later moved to Tucson, Ariz., for most of his high school years, moving back to Poplar his senior year where he played varsity basketball with his brother G. He graduated in 2012.
During this time, he was also a waiter at the Buckhorn. He enrolled at Fort Peck Community College and played for the Buffalo Chasers while working full time at Hi-Line Sports. He made the President’s list and his mom cherished his certificate.
He was an avid pool and darts player, mastering both When he was at home, he loved watching movies and could quote most movies, but what he loved best was visiting with family.
On Feb. 14, 2016, he married Audrea Scott. He gained four stepchildren, with whom he still had a good relationship. He and divorced, but remained friends. In 2020, he met Samantha Drum. They had more good times than bad, but that’s what made them perfect together. On Dec. 7, 2023, they became parents to a son, Kiya Kasimir Smith in Billings. He was proud of his son, often saying, “It’s his world. We’re just all squirrels tryna get a nut!” On Jan. 7, Sami had a positive pregnancy test only to lose the baby days later.
He is survived by his mom, Vermae; son, Kiya Kasimir Smith; babe, Samantha Drum; brothers, Chance Boyd and Joseph Boyd; sister, Brianna Smith; brothers, Maschil Boyd and Grant Ferguson; and grandmothers, Jaimie Youpee, Kate Youpee and Millie Runsthrough.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 2, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment was at Poplar City Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.
