Brockton Sweeps Games In Savage

Brockton’s boys’ basketball team enjoyed strong second and third quarters to down Savage, 58-43, on Thursday, Jan. 22.

Brockton trailed by a 12-4 margin at the end of the first quarter, but Brockton struck for 19 points in the second period for a 23-21 lead. Tefton Bear scored nine points and CoDean Big Eagle added six points in the period.

Brockton then ran off 17 points in the third quarter to gain a 40-30 advantage. Colter Nygard scored eight points in the quarter.

Top scorers for Brockton were Bear with 21 and Nygard with 14 points.

Also scoring were Big Eagle with eight, Miles Boxer Jr. with six, Jarid Fasthorse Jr. with five and Josh Firemoon with four points.

Leading Savage were Boden Jorgensen with 11 and Braxton Shaw with 10 points.

Brockton’s girls’ basketball team earned a conference victory in Savage, 60-46, on Thursday, Jan. 22.

Ahead 18-12 at the end of the opening quarter, Brockton took a 33-19 advantage at intermission.

Brockton increased the margin to 50-29 in the third quarter.

Leading Brockton’s attack were Tamryn Bauer with 29 and Quintana Young with 22 points.

Also scoring were Marlene Fish with eight, Madalyn Fish with two and Raykira Runsabove with two.

Top scorers for Savage were Aspen Peterson with 27 and Finley Verhasselt with 10 points.
