Eder Faces Two Federal Charges
Channing Eder of Wolf Point is facing two charges in U.S. District Court for the District of Montana in Great Falls.
Charges are possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. If convicted, the mandatory minimum sentence is 15 years to life imprisonment, a $20,000 fine and at least 10 years of supervised release.
The second count is being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. If convicted, penalties are 15 years of imprisonment, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. For count one, Eder is charged with knowingly and unlawfully possessing, with the intent to distribute, 50 or more grams of meth between March 2025 and Sept. 19, 2025, in Roosevelt County and also in Spokane County, Washington.
Prior to the current charge, Eder had a final conviction for a serious felony for which he served more than 12 months of imprisonment.
For count two, Eder is charged with knowingly being in possession of a firearm in Roosevelt County knowing he had been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term excelling one year.
