Wolves Lose Games in Scobey
After a promising start, Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball squad dropped a non-conference game in Scobey, 65-34, on Friday, Jan. 2.
The Wolves earned a 13-11 lead in the first quarter. Adalynn Smith hit two three-pointers and had nine points in the quarter.
Scobey moved ahead 29-16 in the second quarter. Emery Rouse tallied six points for the Spartans in the quarter.
Scobey increased the gap to 44-24 at the end of the third quarter.
Smith led the Wolves with nine points. Also scoring were Mattie Azure with six, Jorilynn Black Eagle with four, Sophie Ricker with four, Cadence Bouldin with two, Marley Moran with two, McKinlee Paulson with two, Harper Weeks with two, Amya Martinez with two and Ma’Kenzie Jackson with one.
Rouse scored 16 points and Kayla Carney added 13 points for Scobey.
Wolf Point’s boys’ basketball team lost to Class C power Scobey, 72-30, on Friday, Jan. 2.
The Spartans took a 26-3 lead in the first quarter and held a 45-9 half-time advantage.
Scobey led 58-16 at the end of the third quarter. Each team scored 14 points in the fourth period.
Richard Campbell scored eight points for the Wolves. Jett Azure, Sean Hamilton and Zandon Calder scored six points each. Roper Flaten and Reed Garfield each scored two points.
Top scorers for Scobey were John Carney with 15, Cam Cromwell with 14 and Kolten Machart with 12 points.
The Wolves will travel to Harlem on Friday, Jan. 9, and host Poplar on Saturday, Jan. 10.
