Frontier Teacher Receives Montana History Honor


Frontier School instructor Tina Strauser has been selected the Junior Division Montana National History Day Teacher of the Year nominee. Strauser recently took more than 20 students to the State History Day Contest in Bozeman. Last year, one of Frontier’s students qualified for the national competition and received the Special Exhibit Showcase at the National Museum of American History.

Tiffany Weinberger was co-valedictorian and Student of the Year. Laykin Cantrell was co-valedictorian. Fort Peck Community College held its graduation ceremony at Wolf Point High School on Friday, May 9. National History Day in Montana held its annual state contest on April 12, at Montana State University, where 21 Frontier School students competed against 119 other students from across Montana. Students presented projects in a variety of categories, including documentary, exhibit board, performance, website and research papers.
