Wolves Drop Home Contest Against Glasgow Squad

Wolf Point’s shooting went cold in the second half as the Wolves lost to Glasgow, 5642, at home on Saturday, Dec. 20.

Glasgow ended the first quarter on two free throws by Grady Nielsen and a 14-footer by Cade Hudyma for a 10-7 lead.

The Wolves opened the second period on a hot note when Stone Lilley and Zandon Calder connected on consecutive three-pointers for a 13-10 lead.

After Glasgow’s Nielsen scored for the Scotties, Lilley fired in another three-pointer to put the Wolves up 16-12.

A short time later, Andrew Williamson hit a three-pointer to make the score 19-14 with 5:39 left in the half.

Roper Flaten scored off a great pass from Calder at the 4:42 mark, but the Scotties struck for the next six points to take the lead.

A turnaround shot by Sean Hamilton and a three-point play by Flaten put Wolf Point ahead 26-25, but Nielsen hit three free throws with five seconds left to give Glasgow a 28-26 half-time advantage.

Baskets by Calder, including one off an assist from Hamilton, kept the Wolves close early in the third quarter. The Scotties scored seven of the last nine points of the third quarter for a 40-32 lead. Cade Hudyma, a 6-7 junior, had three of the points.

After Glasgow accounted for the first seven points of the fourth period, a three-pointer by Williamson and an inside shot by Calder closed the margin to 49-37.

The Scotties struck for seven of the next 10 points to put the game away.

Wolf Point, 4-2 for the season, was led by Calder and Williamson with nine points each. Campbell added seven points.

Also scoring for the Wolves were Campbell with seven, Lilley with six, Flaten with five, Hamilton with two, Jett Azure with two and Reed Garfield with two.

Leading Glasgow were Hudyma with 21 and Nielsen with 15 points.

The Wolves travel to Scobey on Jan. 2.
