Students Entertain With Christmas Program
Southside Elementary School students entertained parents and other family members with a musical Christmas program on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Southside School Principal Brandi Burshia said the program was held in the early evening instead of during the school day in order to allow more parents who are working to come enjoy their children’s performances.
Other benefits were that the program didn’t interrupt instruction time and was held in conjunction with family involvement night.
“The kids put in a lot of work,” Burshia told audience members.
She also credited teacher Amanda Campbell with a great job of preparing the students for the program.
First and second graders began the program by singing Frosty the Snowman and All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth.
All grades, including pre-kindergarten, then performed Jingle Bells, Five Little Snowmen and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
After the show, parents had the opportunity to view their children’s art work, enjoy hot chocolate, decorate ornaments and have photos with Santa and their children.
