Weeks Enjoys Flag Football, Track

Wolf Point High School senior Navy Weeks probably didn’t think her high school days would include playing football, but fate led her to the football field and many victories.

Since Wolf Point added girls’ flag football last season, Weeks has enjoyed success in the sport for the Wolves.

“I liked being able to play with my team and having amazing coaches,” Weeks said of playing flag football. “And being able to make it so far.”

The Wolves advanced to the Class B semi-final round before suffering an overtime loss.

Weeks especially enjoyed playing on the defensive side against opponents.

“I like being able to chase the other girls down,” Weeks explained.

Her speed also benefits her during track season where she competes in both relays, the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash.

She qualified for the state meet in relays last season.

“I start it so I set the pace for us,” Weeks said of running relays.

This fall, she was surprised when she was crowned Wolf Point’s homecoming queen.

“I feel very proud and honored to have been chosen as homecoming queen,” Weeks said.

Her favorite class is yearbook where she serves as an editor.

“I get to layout many pages as I want,” she explained.

She is also looking forward to creating the class slideshow for graduation.

Her favorite teacher is Leslie Larson because she is inspiring.

After high school, she plans to attend Flathead Community College and wants to have a career in forensics. Her favorite TV show is “Forensics Files.”

“I’ve always liked to be able to see how the suspects do the crimes and how the detectives figure things out,” Weeks said.

She has gone to school in the area throughout her education. She appreciates the community and her family.

“I get to embrace my culture and traditions,” Weeks said.
