Wolves Lose Against St. Labre, 87-62
After a close start, Wolf Point’s boys’ basketball team fell against an explosive St. Labre team, 87-62, in Lockwood on Friday, Dec. 12.
A dunk and inside shot by Zandon Calder put the Wolves up 5-3 with 4:01 remaining in the opening quarter.
Free throws by Andrew Williamson and Roper Flaten gave Wolf Point a 9-8 advantage, but St. Labre held a 14-9 lead at the end of the period.
The Braves went on to take a 19-14 lead early in the second quarter. St. Labre then accounted for 22 of the next 24 points for a 41-16 margin. The run included four threepoint shots.
Three points by Calder cut the gap to 41-19 at the half.
St. Labre increased its lead to 62-34 during the third quarter. The scoring of Wolf Point’s Richard Campbell pulled the Wolves to 66-41.
St. Labre ended the quarter with a three-pointer and then a shot at the buzzer from three-quarters of the court away for a 72-41 margin.
Three-point shots by Stone Lilley and a three-point play by Sean Hamilton highlighted the fourth quarter for the Wolves.
Calder led the Wolves with 20 points.
Also scoring were Campbell with 10, Lilley with eight, Flaten with seven, Hamilton with six, Williamson with four, Jett Azure with three, Reed Garfield with two and Kayden Charette with two points.
