Cowgirls Fall Against Ekalaka Squad

Culbertson’s girls’ basketball squad fell to Ekalaka, 6421, during tournament action held in Lambert on Friday, Dec. 12.

The Bulldogs accounted for the game’s first 11 points of the contest. Ivy Colvin got the Cowgirls on the board by hitting a 16-footer with 2:13 left in the opening quarter.

Ekalaka held a 19-5 advantage at the end of the period.

A basket by Payton Labatte off a pass from Bella Peterson and a three-pointer by Anna Steppler highlighted play early in the second period as the Cowgirls trailed 22-12.

Ekalaka led 25-12 at the end of the half and by a 4917 margin after three quarters of play.

The Cowgirls tallied the first four points of the fourth period on baskets by Labatte and Steppler, but Ekalaka struck for the game’s final 15 points.
