Bainville Boys Defeat Nashua, 68-34

The Bainville Bulldogs rolled to a 68-34 victory over Nashua to start its boys’ basketball season on Friday, Dec. 5.

Down by a 10-8 margin early, Bainville struck for the final eight points of the opening quarter on two baskets by Kaiden Holmes, a basket off a rebound by Rowan Wilson and a drive by Parker Berwick for a 16-10 advantage.

Ahead by an 18-13 margin early in the second quarter, the Bulldogs accounted for the final 18 points of the half on eight points by Berwick, six points by Wilson and four points by Holmes for a 36-13 lead.

The Bulldogs kept rolling in the third quarter as baskets by Berwick and Wilson led the way to a 52-16 advantage at the end of the period.

Two hoops by Wilson, a basket by Berwick and a drive by Evan Anderson increased the gap to 58-36 to open the fourth quarter.

Top scorers for the Bulldogs were Berwick with 26 points and Wilson with 24 points. Holmes added 10 points.

Also scoring were Kyn Beery with four, Holden Salivar with two and Anderson with two.

Bainville’s boys struggled offensively in the second half and lost to Glasgow’s JVs by a 40-27 final on Saturday, Dec. 6.

The Bulldogs accounted for the final eight points of the opening quarter to earn a 10-3 advantage. Parker Berwick scored five of the points while Rowan Wilson connected on a three-pointer.

The scoring of Evan Anderson, Berwick and Wilson led the Bulldogs to a 16-5 advantage in the second quarter, but Glasgow then tallied six points in a row. Bainville held an 18-14 half-time advantage.

Glasgow struck for the first nine points of the third quarter for a 23-18 lead. Berwick made two baskets in the period to keep the Bulldogs close at 25-22.

Holden Salivar fired in a three-pointer early in the fourth quarter to pull Bainville to 27-25, but Glasgow scored 13 of the final 15 points of the contest.

Berwick led the Bulldogs with 13 points. Also scoring were Wilson with seven, Anderson with four and Salivar with three.
