Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 91 cases during Nov. 3-10.

The calls included the following: Nov. 3

Deputies responded to the Poplar city limits for a report of a burglary. The house, where three alleged murders took place in September was boarded up by family members. The report was that someone broke into the house and stole about $1,000 worth of jewelry and beadwork. The suspect left some clothes and other evidence behind. Deputies took down the name of a suspect and are investigating the theft.

Nov. 4

Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice in Poplar on a report from an adult female that her ex-boyfriend assaulted her by throwing rocks at her.

Deputies and FPTDLJ were contacted by the Grand Forks, N.D., police department about a missing adult female. She has ties to the Wolf Point and Poplar area.

Deputies received a complaint near Culbertson that someone was trying to steal scrap metal from a property.

Nov. 6

Deputies assisted BIA and the Poplar Fire Department in containing a grass fire on BIA Highway Route 1.

Nov. 7

Deputies received a report of a runaway juvenile from Brockton. It was believed that the teenage female was possibly in Poplar.

Nov. 8

Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to the gazebo in Wolf Point for a fight in process. Individuals said they were only “play fighting.”

Deputies received a complaint from BNSF that four individuals were shooting rifles on BNSF property near Froid.

Nov. 9

Deputies, FPTDLJ and the Wolf Point Police Department responded to a large fight at west end housing in Wolf Point. Responding were five FPTDLJ officers, one deputy and one police officer. A male and female were arrested by FPTDLJ.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s report activity statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, 11; Wolf Point, rural, five; Poplar city limits, 17; Poplar FPHA all other, 10; Culbertson town, 11; Culbertson rural, three; Bainville town, one; Bainville rural, 14; Froid rural, one; Brockton town, one; Brockton rural, 10; Fort Kipp, four; total, 91.
