Fireman’s Chili Cook-Off Entertains Residents
Area residents supported the Wolf Point Volunteer Fire Department by attending the organization’s fireman’s ball event at the Wolf Point Elks Event Center on Saturday, Nov. 8.
As a change of pace this year, a chili cook-off was held. Hungry eaters got to taste more than 10 different types of chili and then vote to determine the night’s winner.
Michael Iwen was the top vote-getter in the fun competition.
Last year, the fire department held more of a dinner for family members. Organizers liked the community-minded idea better for this year.
“We wanted to get back to feeding the community instead of just our families,” fire chief Clint Bushman explained.
A silent auction was a popular fundraiser during the evening.
All proceeds help the department pay for food and smaller purchases throughout the year.
The program featured the entertainment of Northern Lightning’s musical talents.
