Recount Held For Tribal Election
A recount was conducted on Thursday, Oct. 30, regarding the Oct. 25 Fort Peck Tribal General Election.
In the recount, Vernice Chopper still won the 12th TEB position with 478 votes. Incumbent Lawrence Hamilton received 463 votes. The original vote count was Chopper 477, Hamilton 460.
Imogene Lilley earned an associate judge position with 665 votes. Kimberly Johnson received 663 votes. The original vote count was Lilley 684, Johnson 668.
There is still an associate judge position open due to Mike Headdress winning a seat on the TEB. The council will make that appointment.
