Poplar Girls, Gorder Take First In Sidney
The Poplar girls’ cross country team ran to a firstplace team finish at the Sidney Invitational held on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The Indians finished with 27 points. Sidney was second with 31 points and Plentywood took third with 78 points.
Wolf Point’s eighth-grader Cali Gorder ran the course in 20:32.2 for top honors. Glendive’s Brooklyn Ackerman finished second at 20:57.1.
Two Poplar runners placed in the top 10. Mila Gramling earned third at 21:10.8. Kellyn Azure took ninth at 21:52.7.
Also placing for the Indians were Emilyann Meyers in 12th at 22:45.8, Amelia Weeks in 13th at 22:48.8, Alara Cooper in 15th at 23:06.2, Blake Follette in 20th at 23:24.9 and Harley Daniels in 21st at 23:37.4.
Wolf Point’s Lakealah Mays took 41st place with a time of 27:57.2.
Brockton’s Braelynn De-Marrias finished in 10th place at 21:57.1. Teammate Madalyn Fish placed 18th at 23:19.0.
Skylar Cummings took 39th at 27:39.2.
In the boys’ division, Glasgow topped the field with 44 points. Poplar was fourth with 86 points and Wolf Point took sixth with 143 points.
Sidney’s Carter Heggem was the overall winner with a time of 16:28.2 Leading Wolf Point was eighth-grader Keydon Beston with a 15th-place showing at 18:50.8.
Colter Berglee took 32nd place with a time of 19:52.6.
Andrew Williamson placed 48th at 20:37.0. Kayeiko Villaluz was 53rd at 21:40.1.
Kevin Brock placed 62nd at 23:28.0. Ezekiel Payne was 71st at 25:49.8.
Poplar’s Issac Irizarry placed fifth with a tie of 17:52.3.
Wilder Bearcub finished 14th at 18:48.0. Ryder Olson placed 23rd at 19:07.1.
Mickey Failing took 35th at 19:57.2. Raylando Red Eagle was 29th at 20:11.3.
Brockton’s Daniel Segubiense finished in 39th place at 20:17.8. Lynn Bets His Medicine placed 73rd at 25:59.2.
