Poplar Falls Short In League Volleyball Matches

Poplar’s volleyball team dropped two close league matches during the week.

The Indians fell to Fairview, 10-25, 24-26, 18-25, at home on Thursday, Sept. 4.

Poplar’s Braelyn Nordwick finished with four kills. Lilliana O’Neal had two blocks.

Serving two aces each were Carsyn Fourbear and Frankie Gourneau.

Poplar then fell at Malta by a 13-25, 12-25, 25-22, 16-25, final on Friday, Sept. 5.

Nordwick accounted for 12 kills to lead the Indians’ attack.

Having blocks were Fourbear, O’Neal, Nordwick and Makenzie Crawford.

Leaders in digs were Jacey Azure with 15 and Nordwick with 12.

Toni Brown had 12 assists and Gourneau had nine assists.
