Brewfest Scheduled For Oct. 11 In Wolf Point

The Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s board of directors discussed the upcoming Brewfest celebration during its meeting last week. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Stampede grounds from 5 to 10 p.m.
Country music by Chris Bohenek will be the featured entertainment. Dad’s Bar will serve liquor out of the Pony Bar.
Ticket prices will vary for drinkers and non-drinkers. The event will be moved inside if poor weather hits.
Also during the meeting, officials discussed providing meals for golfers when Wolf Point hosts the divisional tournament in May. More than 100 high school golfers are anticipated for the tournament.
Chamber officials discussed the abandoned properties on First Avenue South. In August, the county approved a resolution to have the county treasurer issue tax deeds to the county for where the county is the possessor of the tax lien. Commissioners have said the county will not clean up the buildings but will put the lots up for sale.
Chamber officials feel options include looking at Brownfield cleanup or seeking a private group to clean the properties.
“The process is slow but moving in the right direction,” chamber president Nicole Miller said.
Directors Keith Higgins and Easton Copenhaver volunteered to serve on the tournament committee.
