Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 134 calls from June 9-16.
The calls included the following: June 9
Deputies were called to Brockton on a report of two people fighting. The reporting party said an adult male was causing a disturbance and had a warrant for his arrest. Later, the reporting party said they didn’t wish to file charges.
June 10
Deputies were dispatched to the Buckhorn Bar in Poplar for a report of two women fighting. The victim said she didn’t want to file charges. It turned out she had a warrant for her arrest. She was taken to tribal adult jail.
June 11
Deputies were called to the Culbertson swimming pool where employees discovered that someone broke into the pool and building while it was closed. A handful of change was taken from the cash register. Pool officials said didn’t wish to press charges on the juvenile male, but they wanted him to be told not to go in the pool without supervision for safety reasons.
June 12
Deputies responded to the Northstar Apartments in Wolf Point for a report of a male laying down in the lobby. Deputies located the male. Javian Azure, 23, was charged for criminal trespass and told not to return to the apartments.
June 13
Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice on U.S. Highway 2 in Wolf Point when there was a struggle to arrest a suspect. Deputies followed the FPTDLJ vehicle to the hospital and when the male was taken to the tribal jail.
Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to the Buckhorn Bar regarding a male who was refusing to leave the business. Jordan Crowe, 39, was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to the tribal jail.
June 14
Deputies received a report at 1:47 a.m. that a male was attempting to break down a residence’s front door in Culbertson. The family ran to safety. Seth Gilmore, 31, of Powell, Wyo., was charged with assault, aggravated burglary, criminal mischief of value less than $1,500 and criminal trespass to property.
June 15
Deputies received a report of a runaway juvenile female in Culbertson. A search was conducted including using a drone. The search was then delayed for a time due to a thunderstorm and hail. At 12:16 a.m. on June 16, deputies received a report that a BNSF train hit a pedestrian in Culbertson. The fatality victim was the juvenile female. Agencies responding including the county coroner, FPTDLJ and BNSF officials.
