Wolves Score Tennis Victories
Wolf Point’s tennis players faced quality opponents during action in Billings on Friday and Saturday.
“It was a really good weekend. All the girls improved so much over the last two days,” Wolf Point Coach Dan Horsmon said. “There was a lot of tough competition out there. The goal is to get better and better every day so by the time divisions come around, we want to get as many points as possible and get as many girls as possible to state.”
Wolf Point defeated Three Forks by a 4-2 final.
Earning singles’ victories for Wolf Point were Tanna Guldborg and Bella Doornek. Earning victories in doubles were Lauren Rodenberg and Riley Schwarzrock and the team of McKinlee Paulson and McKenzie Rodenberg.
The Wolves fell to Jefferson/ Boulder by a 4-2 margin. Winning doubles’ matches for Wolf Point were L. Rodenberg and Schwarzrock along with Paulson and Hailey Greyhawk.
Baker downed the Wolves by a 6-0 final.
The Wolves edged Red Lodge by a 4-3 margin. Kailayla Villaluz won her singles’ match. Tanna Guldborg dropped a tough match on a tie-breaker.
Scoring victories in doubles’ play were L. Rodenberg and Schwarzrock, Paulson and Greyhawk and Bella Sanchez and M. Rodenberg.
The Wolves fell to Townsend by a 5-1 final. Paulson and Greyhawk won their doubles’ match. L. Rodenberg and Schwarzrock fell in a third set tie-breaker.
