Lions, Bearcubs Score At Glasgow Track Meet


The Lustre Lions finished with 69 points in the boys’ division to place second at a 12team track meet in Glasgow on Monday, April 7.
Glasgow’s boys topped the standings with 158 points. Malta took third for 65 points.
Johnslee Pierre was a double winner for the Lions. Pierre finished first in the 200 at 23.87 seconds and first in the 400 at 54.26 seconds.
The Lions’ 1600-meter relay team featuring Byron Ewing, Diek Olfert, Prestyn Klatt and Pierre finished first with a time of 3:56.79.
Klatt took second in the 800 at 2:10.77 and second in the 3200 at 10:54.92.
Ewing earned third in the 400 at 56.31 seconds and fifth in the 200 at 25.94 seconds.
Olfert placed fourth in the 800 at 2:19.63, fifth in the long jump at 16-7 and fifth in the triple jump at 36-1.
Mason Hilkemann took fifth in the discus at 110-8 and sixth in the shot put at 38-6. KJ Brown took seventh in the 400 at 59.92 and Kayden Charette was eighth in the long jump at 16-1.
The 400-meter relay team featuring Yoseph Lee, Charette, Jacob Rigby and Brown placed fourth with a time of 51.12 seconds.
Lustre’s girls took eighth in the team standings with 26 points. Sidney Klatt took third in the 800 at 2:49.56 and third in the 1600 at 6:37.01. Justice Byers placed third in the 400 at 1:11.20 and sixth in the 800 at 2:55.85.
Lauryn Holzrichter took fifth in the 300-meter hurdles at 54.79 seconds, sixth in the triple jump at 27-7 and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles at 19.82 seconds.
Holly Hilkemann took eighth in the triple jump at 24-8. The 400-meter relay team of Jaden Gibson, Klatt, Rachel Pew and Byers placed fifth with a time of 58.92 seconds.
Frazer’s boys’ team scored eight points of the meet.
Frazer’s Gabe Beston finsihed fourth in the 1600 at 5:19.09 and fourth in the 3200 at 11:27.34.
Brockton’s girls scored three points at the meet as BraeLynn DeMarrias took fifth in the 3200 at 14:47.61 and Taylor Cummins was sixth at 16:28.56.
