Indians Post Good Results At Meet


A first-place showing by Walker Bushia in the shot put highlighted Poplar’s day at the Richey/Lambert Invitational in Lambert on Tuesday, April 10.
Poplar’s boys scored 26 points to take seventh place in the boys’ standings while Poplar’s girls scored eight points.
Bushia, a senior, earned first place in the shot put with a mark of 42-4.
Kaniel Ricker recorded a mark of 39-8 for second-place honors in the triple jump.
Wilder Bearcub ran the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 49.58 seconds for fifth place.
Poplar’s boys’ 1600-meter relay team featuring Jayden Eder, Raylando Red Eagle, Ricker and Navarjo Escarcega placed third at 4:03.31.
In the girls’ division, Lilliana O’Neal earned fourth place in the discus with a mark of 91-7.
Poplar’s girls’ 1600-meter relay team consisting of Alara Cooper, Kelbee Redstone, Emilyann Meyers and Paige GrayHawk finished fourth with a time of 5:09.17.
The Indians’ track and field team will compete in Sidney on Friday, April 18.
