Area Golfers Battle In Wolf Point

Golfers from Wolf Point and Poplar participated in the District 2B challenge at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course on Saturday, April 12.

Poplar’s girls took third in the team standings with score of 461 behind Malta and Glasgow.

Wolf Point’s boys placed fourth with a team score of 515.

Poplar’s Kaniel Ricker and Malta’s Kruise Stiles tied for medalist honors with 77s.

Poplar’s Lukas Young took ninth place with a 92 and Navarjo Escarcega shot a 93 for 10th place.

Wolf Point’s Conway Turcotte tied for 15th place with a 102. William Schwarzrock placed 22nd at 116. Chaz Kegley was 26th at 135.

Poplar’s Bree Brown and Angelina Escarcega tied for 10th place in the girls’ standings with 113s. Masina Youpee had a 120 for 16th place and Roseanna Youpee took 18th place at 156.

Wolf Point’s Maia Kent tied for fifth place in the girls’ standings with a score of 108. McKinlee Paulson shot a 124 for 17th place.

A highlight of the meet was Malta’s Michael Love hitting a hole-in-one on the 125-yard fourth hole.
