Wolf Point’s Lady Wolves had a rough time offensively against Circle on Thursday, Jan. 23, and fell by a 49-16 final at home.

A pull-up jumper by Wolf Point’s Keeley Blount-Henderson tied the game at 2-2 during the first three minutes of play. A free throw by Kashlyn Speak Thunder cut Circle’s lead to 5-3 with 3:39 left in the period.

The Wildcats then tallied the last five points of the quarter on a three-pointer by Kirsten Wagner and a layup by Emma Murphy for a 10-3 lead.

Circle outscored the Wolves by a 16-0 margin in the second period for a 26-3 lead. Charlie Moline accounted for six points in the period while Allie Kountz and Madeline Kountz added four points each.

Circle opened the third quarter with the first five points on a free throw by A. Kuntz, a hoop by M. Moline and two free tosses by Kambrie Kountz for a 31-3 margin. Wolf Point’s Karmyn Plain Feather ended Circle’s streak by hitting a free throw with 5:04 left in the third quarter.

Two baskets by Caityln Wilson highlighted Wolf Point’s play during the rest of the quarter. The Wildcats held a 41-8 lead at the end of the period.

The Wolves put together a run of seven points during the fourth quarter on five points by Blount-Henderson and free throws by Plain Feather, but Circle won by the 49-26 final.

Blount-Henderson led the Wolves with five points. Also scoring were Wilson with four, Plain Feather with three, MaKenzie Jackson with three and Speak Thunder with one.

Top scorers for Circle was M. Moline and and Matilda Weeding with eight points each. K. Kountz and C. Moline added six points each.
