Poplar Students Run, Get More Colorful

A good-sized group of Poplar elementary students had an enjoyable race and came away looking a little different after a color run on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The event was for elementary students in grades kindergarten through fourth grade. Their cross country coaches Rolfe Schwarzkopf and Kenda Stuehm organized the activity. House Fire Endangers Responders

A house fire was reported in Poplar at 3:36 p.m. Oct. 23. A statement from the Poplar Volunteer Fire Department said that multiple firefighters were paged out to a structure fire at 407 C Street West. As of 7:30 p.m., nine firefighters were reported as hospitalized for possible toxic smoke inhalation. According to the statement, “One of the nine members was transported to the hospital by ambulance

Runners Place At Class C Meet

Culbertson/Bainville runners competed at the Class C state cross country meet in Missoula Saturday, Oct. 26. Jade LoneBear finished in 34th place with a time of 24:28.6. Rebekah Ellerkamp took 41st place with a time of 25:14.4. The top teams in the girls’ division were Roberts with 23 points, West Yellowstone with 43, Manhattan Christian with 54, Drummond with 54 and Scobey with 57 points.
