The weather has remained cold, hovering around zero and gently snowing.
Looking back at last weekend, Nov. 22-23 was a basketball extravaganza with the Lustre Grade School junior high teams traveling to Saco (boys) and Hinsdale (girls) for the 3C junior high tournaments.
The Lustre junior high boys completed their season with eight wins and no losses. They beat North Country 41-25 to qualify for the championship game, where they lost to Frontier, 29-44 but finished in second place.
The junior high girls won 30-17 against North Country and lost to a very good Frazer team in the championship.
The next day, teams from Dodson, North Country, Frontier, Frazer and Nashua came on cold wintery snow-covered roads to the jamboree tournament. The jamboree girls won against Opheim, lost to Frontier and won against Nashua.
The Lustre jamboree boys won their tournament, playing first Opheim and Frazer to qualify to play in the championship against Frontier. They won 33-29.
Looking ahead, the Lustre Christian High School basketball teams will play Plevna on Dec. 6 and then will play Glasgow JV on Dec. 7 at the Glasgow Class C Showcase.
The Christmas programs in Lustre are as follows: Dec. 5, LGS Christmas concert will be at 6:30 p.m. at the LGS gym; Dec. 8, the MB Christmas program is at 6 p.m.; Dec. 10, the LCHS drama class will present a Christmas play at 7 p.m. in the LGS gym; and Dec. 22, the EMB Christmas program is at 6 p.m.
