Brockton Looks To Continue Increasing Victories

Coming off their best season in many years, the Brockton Warriors are looking forward to even better results this boys’ basketball campaign.
The Warriors have a turnout of 17 players this season.
“We have a good turnout,” Coach John Nygard said. “Even during summer basketball, we had a lot of boys.”
Brockton posted a record of 8-12 last season. Nygard believes it was the program’s best mark since 2017.
“We’re going to be fast,” Nygard said. “We play well together.”
Returning starters include Josh Firemoon, Quannah First, Cam Rattling Thunder and Jared Fast Horse.
Also with a good amount of varsity experience are Colter Nygard, Miles Boxer, Ronnie Blackdog and Weston Lambert.
“We’re expecting to be pretty good in the district,” Coach Nygard said.
He sees Plentywood as the pre-season favorite in the conference. Other squads expected to be strong include Culbertson and Savage.
“Anybody can be beat on a given night,” Nygard said. “I feel that we have the talent to be at divisionals.”
The last time that the Warriors advanced to the divisional tournament was 2007.
“Our goal is to bring Brockton back where we were,” Nygard said. “We’re very excited for this year.”
