Wolf Point Elks Presents Freedom Grants To Veterans

The Wolf Point Elks Lodge #1764 displayed its gratitude to area veterans by donating $1,000 for needed items to assist three Faith Home residents last week. The Elks’ Freedom Grants are used to serve veterans and/or military members along with their families. Projects must serve a population in need. Freedom Grant projects must focus on one of these five areas: employment, homelessness and housing, military families, health and education support.

Receiving items spent with the grant were Faith Home residents Vern Unger, Percy Bear and Lyle Schwarzrock.

In 2024-25, the Elks National Veterans Service Commission will award $1,000 Freedom Grants to 1,000 Lodges for qualifying projects. The Elks are excited that even more lodges will now have access to grant funds specifically to serve our nation’s veterans and/or military members in need.
