Fort Union Hosts Kids Day
The annual Kids Day is planned at Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site Thursday, June 13.
The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Central Time at the site, which is located at the North Dakota state line near the confluence of the Missouri and Yellowstone rivers. There will be crafts for kids and demonstrations happening around the rendezvous camp. Special Kids Day demonstrations will be taking place every half hour.
Plains Indian Sign Language will be taught by Cedric Halvorson and Brandon Delvo. Sawyer Flynn will host Flintlock firing demonstrations and Billy Maxwell will show off some animal hides. Jefff Brown will discuss canoes used during the fur trade.
