Roosevelt County DUI Task Force Recognizes 10-Year Anniversary

Created in May 2014, the Roosevelt County DUI Task Force continues to work towards combating the issue of impaired driving in Roosevelt County. The task force is a team representing a diverse cross section of the county’s respective communities.

This team is dedicated to assessing and mobilizing a county-wide injury prevention plan and encourages safe driving habits. Community education efforts are focused on alcohol and drug consequences, the promotion of making healthy choices, and garnering community involvement.

Since 2017, the task force has offered at least one $500 scholarship to a graduating senior that attends a school within the boundaries of Roosevelt County, with the task force offering two of these scholarships in each of the past five years.

Other events that the task force attends or promotes include the Roosevelt County Fair, the Fort Peck Red Ribbon Run, any events the Fort Peck Safe on All Roads (SOAR) Program hold and are members of the Northern Tribes DUI Task Force and promotes media they create.

They also support Your Community Matters Alcohol Service Training classes for anyone that is a seller of server of alcohol in the county.

The task force currently meets the second Wednesday of each month with meetings rotating between Wolf Point, Poplar and Culbertson. Meeting dates are subject to change.
