The Lustre Christian Lions accounted for 35 points to take seventh place at the Sidney Invitational track meet on Saturday, April 20.

Williston, N.D., topped the boys’ standings with 95 points while Glendive placed second with 78.3 points and Glasgow was third with 66 points.

Lustre’s standout Johnslee Pierre missed some of the meet due to participating at the district music festival, but the senior returned in time to win the 300-meter hurdles race at 43.50 seconds.

Pierre earned second place in the triple jump with a best of 43-10.

Brian Guedes, a junior, took third place in the long jump with a mark of 20-5. Terran Joseph placed seventh in the event at 19-9.

Joseph finished third in the 100 at 11.67 seconds and sixth in the 200 at 24.97 seconds.

The 1600-meter relay team featuring Guedes, Byron Ewing, Joseph and Pierre finished in fourth place at 3:39.61.

Highlights for Lustre’s girls included Lauryn Holzrichter taking 13th in the 300-meter hurdles, 22nd in the high jump and 29th in the triple jump. Abby Olfert was 33rd in the 200-meter dash.
